Final Stages Update and Preview!

Hello there backers!
It's been a few weeks since our last update and I wanted to give you a heads-up on where we stand. We are 99% done with copyfitting, currently on page 507 out of 570, after which point we have a final editing pass to make sure we (I!) didn't break anything in copyfitting, then the masterful Liz Courts goes back to finalize layout and the book will be yours! We're so close I can practically taste it! But we're not rushing, we're making sure everything is solid along the way, and we've found ways to add more content in during the copyfitting process, squeezing literally every last ounce of material we can into the book thanks to creative layout choices.
As a thanks to those who have kept along on this long ride, I wanted to share a few more sample pages. These are from prior to copyfitting so there may be small differences in content between these samples and the finished products (we did some really dramatic overhauls to the presentation of the aetherships section to make it flow better and provide more content. We even added a few more ships!)
We'll keep you up to date on our changes and the second the PDF version is ready to go out the door you'll have it with print versions running along close behind.

Hey folks!
The day you've been waiting for is almost here! We're just a very short distance away from layout being complete and then we'll be doing a final copyedit pass to make sure everything is perfect before getting the campaign setting PDF out to you and the printers! My rough estimate right now is that we'll have the PDFs out to backers by the first couple weeks of February, barring anything major we need to adjust during copyediting. Right now we're looking to be on track for that (though we may be adjusting some font choices and other graphic design elements, that's a plug and play fix and won't delay anything).
As for the delivery of the print books, we'll be getting dates from the printer once the files are out and we'll be sure to update you as soon as we have a concrete date on that.
In the meantime, why don't you take a look inside the book!

Backer Reward Updates

While we're waiting to talk about Starfinder updates, I wanted to share some images with backers!
Everyone who backed at the Marshal level and above ($103+) are not only getting the single 1st-level adventure we promised, but also TWO other full-length introductory adventures! Folks who didn't have the opportunity to back at the Marshal level will be able to buy the adventures in a limited-time 3-pack bundle after the Campaign Setting is released.
We're running demos of Beacon in the Black and Wanted in the Wastes at GenCon 2016 as well and we'll be using the playtest info from those demos to inform any changes made prior to the full release.

Status Update!

Hello Backers! We hope your February has been as stellar and as busy as ours!
We just wanted to check in with you to give an update on progress. Development has been a slower-going process than we originally anticipated, and we've had to push back the start of our editing phase until the second week of March. This means that the Beta Early Access Guide won't be coming out until around March 19th, as we're focusing on getting ready for the editing phase. Once development is complete we'll be able to roll out the Beta guide.
Shipping dates for the Aethera Spirits comic book are also being pushed back due to this delay (but we've included a little sneak peak at some of the additional art backers who will be receiving that comic will find at the end of this update!) We've also done some more calibrations on the time it will take to go through all three editing passes and final layout. Right now it's looking like late May for the release of the PDF copy of the Aethera Campaign Setting, and we're hoping to get the printed copies out the door a few weeks after that. We'll know more on exactly how long the printing will take closer to May.
However, we've also got some exciting additional news. The free adventure (Beacon in the Black) that came with some backer levels is getting expanded. We're now going to be releasing three Aethera adventures. Backers who would be getting Beacon for free will receive free copies of these additional adventures as they are released (and we'll have more on what they are in future updates.)
We are also going to be running Beacon in the Black at Paizocon 2016. We'll have more information about that and other Paizocon events in the coming weeks. We'll check back with you soon!
